A catastrophic head-on crash near Odessa has killed several members of the men’s and women’s golf teams from the University of the Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Reports say the teams were on their way to Midland for a tournament.

DPS troopers confirm the crash of a college van and a pick-up in Andrews County.

DPS says the 17-passenger van and a Ford F-150 hit head-on. It’s not clear how many people died but the University confirms some of its students died as did the first-year head coach who was driving the van.
