First responders have now recovered the body of a second drowning victim from Toledo Bend, according to Steve W Stewart from KJAS, Jasper.
The Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office says the two fishermen drowned when their boat sank in about 17 feet of water Friday in the Toledo Bend Reservoir.
According to Sheriff Aaron Mitchell, the two went fishing and the winds were very strong when a cold front passed over the area Friday afternoon. It also caused problems on Lake Sam Rayburn with at least one boat sinking.
The incident at Toledo Bend occurred near the Ebarb Community, about 6 miles west of Zwolle.
Sheriff Mitchell says the body of one of the anglers was recovered at about 8:00 Friday night, and the body of the other man was found late Monday afternoon. The boat was recovered from the bottom of the lake.
The men have been identified as George Diboll, 61, of Oakdale, Louisiana, and Marvin Parsons, 61, of Lafayette, Louisiana.
