A 27-year-old man was shot to death by three officers from the San Antonio Police Department after the man allegedly pulled a gun out from his waistband.
Police were called Monday to North Elmendorf and Carter St., near the creek on the city’s West Side.
According to Chief McManus, the officers came across an individual wanted on two felony warrants; one for assault on an officer and one for possession of a firearm.
Police attempted to stop him and at some point the man allegedly pulled a gun from his waistband, that’s when, the three officers fired their guns, killing him.
The officers involved have been with the department for 4, 5, and 16 years, according to the chief.
A woman on scene who identified herself as the man’s sister said officers fired nine rounds towards her brother, but the chief couldn’t confirm those details.
Chief McManus said body camera footage will be reviewed.
