Michael Martinez, a Humble ISD student, was being bullied at school, so the Texas Department of Public Safety Southeast Region, along with a couple of Humble ISD officers, responded by escorting Martinez to school on March 10, according to a recent social media post from the department.

“It’s sad & unfortunate to hear, but it does happen,” DPS wrote in a Tweet.

Photos from DPS show Martinez wearing a cowboy hat while in the front seat of a state trooper police car and Martinez in class surrounded by DPS troopers and Humble ISD officers.  Another photo shows a DPS officer pushing Martinez in his wheelchair to class.

“To show our support & encouragement [Texas DPS Southeast Region] escorted Michael to school along with [Humble ISD] police officers Martin & Morgan,” DPS tweeted. “Michael, we hope you have a good day!”
