A man was given a $1 million bond after being arrested Thursday on child sex assault charges against a young girl that started when she was just six years old.

Rodolfo Gomez, 40, was charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, a first degree felony and the second-most severe criminal offense in Texas.

Police said that the young girl, now 15, came forward and said that the abuse by Gomez started when she was just six years old. She said that Gomez had sex with her and made her perform oral sex on him during the course of abuse that she said lasted for five years, according to the arrest report.

The victim said the abuse stopped when she was 11 years old.

Gomez was interviewed by investigators and placed under arrest.
