The Montgomery County investigation of a man accused in a girl’s nine-year sexual abuse found two other alleged child victims.
Eric Lane Roberts, 43, of Lamesa, Texas, is charged with the first-degree felony offense of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, according to district clerk and jail records.
As of Tuesday morning, Roberts was being held on a $75,000 bond at the Montgomery County Jail in Conroe, jail records show.
The charges relate to a girl’s alleged abuse between 2010 and 2019, specifically two incidents happening in Montgomery County. The girl early last year conversed with police and a Children’s Safe Harbor advocacy center forensic interviewer and accused Roberts of sexually assaulting her, according to a probable cause affidavit filed Feb. 1 by a Montgomery County Sheriff’s officer.
The affidavit was unclear as to whether the other two alleged child victims found in the course of the investigation are now adults or whether Roberts will face any related charges.
One of the accusers told the sheriff’s officer that Roberts sexually assaulted her when she was 12 while she tried stopping him and was telling him, “no.” The second accuser made her allegations in November while talking with an out-of-state child advocacy center staffer, saying she was between 9 and 10 when Roberts allegedly fondled her, according to the affidavit.
Roberts was taken into custody Feb. 16. His defense attorney did not respond to requests for comment.
