RV goes airborne, crashes into ditch on I-40 in Carson County; 2 killed

CARSON COUNTY, Texas — Two people were killed when an RV went airborne and crashed into a ditch on I-40 in Carson County.

According to the preliminary report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Richard Rogers, 75, of Fredericksburg, Virginia was headed west on I-40 in a 2016 Winnebago Adventurer towing a Honda CR-V.

Around 9:25 a.m. Saturday, Rogers veered off the interstate near the FM 2373 overpass. He went into the ditch north of I-40 and up the overpass embankment. The RV went airborne, landing in the ditch west of FM 2373.

Richard Rogers and his passenger, Elizabeth Rogers, 68 of Fredericksburg, Virginia, were pronounced dead at the scene.
