Man sentenced to 33 years in prison after shooting and killing cousin

SAN ANTONIO – A jury sentenced a San Antonio man to 33 years in prison after he shot and killed his cousin back in March 2020.

On Friday, 24-year-old Edison Carraman is guilty of murder after shooting and killing Kristopher Carraman, 23, after a dispute.

The trial continued on Monday in the 437th district Court. According to Bexar County, Carraman must serve half of the sentence given before being eligible for parole.

“Family disputes occur, but should never be resolved by violence. This defendant’s bad decisions have lasting effects on this entire family. This jury’s verdict does not bring back Kristopher Carraman, but I hope it brings them some peace,” said Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales.
