SAN ANTONIO – A funeral procession was held Wednesday for a New Braunfels Army Captain who died tragically.
United States Army Captain Isaac Walkup is expected to arrive at the San Antonio Airport at approximately 2:00 p.m.
He was escorted to his home city by the New Braunfels Police Department and Fire Department, along with the San Antonio Patriot Guard Riders.
The procession is expected to arrive in New Braunfels at approximately 3:00 p.m. where it will exit IH-35, turn onto South Seguin Ave., and proceed through the Main Plaza before arriving at Zoeller Funeral Home on Landa St.
For those planning on viewing the procession as it makes its way through New Braunfels, the City asks that you do so safely. Please avoid parking or standing in such a way that blocks traffic.
He is survived by his young daughter, Jenni. A scholarship fund for his daughter has been organized by friends from his Army-Baylor class. If you would like to donate CLICK HERE.
Isaac’s mother is encouraging people to support local mental health groups in memory of her son Isaac. “Flowers are beautiful, but let’s save a life,” she said.
Thank you for your service Captain Walkup, may you rest in peace.
