BEAUMONT — Beaumont Police confirm an officer’s weapon discharged during a disturbance call at a Beaumont apartment complex, striking him in the leg. The injury is non-life threatening.

Officers responded to a disturbance shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday at The Woodlands Apartments, 3150 West Cardinal Drive.

Police say during the encounter, an officer’s weapon discharged, striking him in the leg. He was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

BPD is not actively searching for anyone at this time. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
