Two fires now near Lake Meredith, burning more than 500 acres total

MOORE COUNTY, Texas (KVII) — Fire crews are now battling blazes on two fronts near Lake Meredith, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.

The first fire, designated the Indian Springs Fire, started just northeast of the lake and has only burned an estimated two acres at 0% containment.

However, the newer Twin Creek Fire just east of the Indian Springs fire, has already burned an estimated 500 acres, according to the forest service’s website.

That fire is also at 0% containment as of 5:10 p.m. on Friday.
