JEFFERSON COUNTY — Several fire departments have responded to a reported chemical leak at a tank wash business on Beauxart Gardens Road off Highway 69.

Nederland Fire, with assistance from the Port Neches Fire Department and Groves Fire Department, are on scene and have blocked roads around the area while they respond.

Nederland Police Chief Gary Porter and firefighters with Nederland Fire Rescue say there are no evacuations. Nederland Fire says they’ve been on scene since yesterday. Residents told us the odor is strong and that it’s irritating, Firefighters say they’re monitoring the situation and spraying water to help minimize the impact of the leak.
