BPD takes suspects into custody after driver wrecks while trying to flee from police

BEAUMONT — Beaumont Police have taken several suspects into custody after a driver fled from officers during a chase and wrecked in north Beaumont.

Beaumont police were investigating a shooting and located a possible suspect vehicle at about 12:30 p.m. Friday.

The driver sped away and several police units chased the vehicle on Concord.

The chase continued to McHale Street and Bigner Road where the driver crashed and wrecked near that intersection.

Police took everyone in the vehicle into custody. No officers were hurt nor was anyone in the suspect vehicle injured.

Investigators are trying to determine the location where the victim was shot. The wound was to his arm. It’s not believed to be life threatening.
