SAN ANTONIO — Police say they have arrested a suspect accused of shooting at a family member before barricading themselves in a home on the city’s east side. 

The San Antonio Police Department said that they were called to the scene on the 1300 block of Wheatley Avenue on the city’s east side for a disturbance with a gun.

“Preliminary information indicates that the suspect got into a confrontation with an adult relative at the location that led to him allegedly firing a weapon towards the victim,” police said. “No persons were injured by the gunfire.”

Police said the suspect barricaded himself in the home for several hours, but surrendered peacefully around 4 p.m. They said charges are pending against the suspect, and an investigation is ongoing.
