BEAUMONT — The number of Covid-19 cases in Southeast Texas is on the decline.

However, local leaders want to keep Beaumont’s regional infusion center open for treating patients with Covid.

Since opening its doors four months ago, the infusion center has treated nearly 5,000 Southeast Texans with Covid.

Patients have slowed in recent weeks.

The facility sees only about 15 to 25 people a day, but local leaders say with another Covid-19 variant spreading, it’s important for the infusion center to remain open.
