San Antonio World Heritage Office celebrates the history of tamales

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio UNESCO Creative City Of Gastronomy Chef Ambassador Jesse “Chef Kirk” Kuykendall visited with San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind staff to present a demonstration on making tamales and discussing the history and culture behind one of San Antonio’s favorite foods.

Staff from the San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind Rehab Department enjoyed their Wednesday by making tamales and learning about the history and heritage of traditional Mesoamerican dish from Chef Kirk.

The event was part of the annual San Antonio of Gastronomy Tamal Institute.
