The lights came on at 6:00 on Saturday evening as a large group of people came out to celebrate the arrival of the Christmas Season marked by the lighting of the Jasper County Courthouse.
As people walked around Downtown Jasper admiring the lights, other events were in full swing such as the serving of refreshments at a vintage soda fountain inside the Jasper County Historical Museum at the corner of Main and Lamar Streets and also blue grass music at the East Texas Art Gallery, two blocks away at the corner of Austin and Crockett Streets.
Right around the corner is the Christmas in The Park to be held in Sandy Creek Park on Saturday, November 27th and the Annual Christmas Parade to be held on Thursday, December 2nd at 5:30 p.m., taking the traditional parade route through downtown Jasper.
