Americans are once again feeling pain at the pump amid higher oil prices and surging demand from the U.S. reopening. One of the main factors behind high gas prices is the price of crude oil, which is above $80 per barrel, according to an American Automobile Association press release published on Monday.
Consumers caught a little break Monday as the national average price for a gallon of gas leveled off at $3.41, down a penny since last week. Since October 30, the national average has fallen on nine different days, after rising steadily each of the previous 31 days, according to the release.
