Ford Park Entertainment Complex gets funds

Although the county had inked a deal to sell the Ford Park Entertainment Complex to the Port Arthur Renaissance Development Group headed by Kevin Johnson last year, Jefferson County commissioners are being asked to approve an “emergency grant request” for marketing the venue at the next meeting of elected officials set for Tuesday, Nov. 16. The $92,000 allocation would come from the Hotel Occupancy Tax collected and channeled through the Jefferson County Tourism Committee.

The recommendation to approve the funding for marketing purposes will be before Jefferson County commissioners and Judge Jeff Branick during the weekly meeting of the group held at 10:30 a.m. on the fourth floor of the Jefferson County Courthouse.
