Chase ends with fatal shooting of suspect accused of firing into constable’s office

HOUSTON — A high-speed chase ended with shots fired in a parking lot near Greenspoint Mall in Houston and the suspect was fatally shot as he got out of the vehicle with a gun, according to ABC 13.

The chase began at about 11 a.m. Thursday, winding its way up the Gulf Freeway, through mid-town and then north Houston.

The suspect, in a white car, was travelling at 80 mph or greater.

Constable Mark Herman says investigators believe the suspect in the vehicle was involved in a shooting at a Precinct 4 storefront earlier this week.

The suspect left the freeway and drove on the side streets in the area of Greenspoint Mall. When the suspect got out of the vehicle in the parking lot of a Goodwill store, shots were fired.
