Gov. Greg Abbott has appointed insurance professional and Beaumont native Ricky Raven to the UH System Board of Regents.
The Board of Regents is the governing body for all for universities in the UH System, University of Houston, University of Houston-Clear Lake, University of Houston-Downtown and University of Houston-Victoria.
Raven, currently of Sugar Land, is the senior vice president and deputy general counsel for Allstate Insurance. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, International Association of Defense Counsel, International Association of Trial Lawyers and the State Bar of Texas.
He recently ended an appointment on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and is a trustee of the University of Houston Foundation.
Raven currently serves on the University of Houston Board of Visitors, a presidentially-appointed advisory board of private sector thought leaders. He received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree and Juris Doctor degree from the University of Houston.
Leticia Martinez has been promoted to Nederland assistant branch manager with FivePoint Credit Union.
Martinez has been employed with FivePoint for 15 years and formerly held the positions of teller and full-service representative. She is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School and loves to spend time with her family.
Jennifer Rogers has been promoted to e-services lending manager with FivePoint Credit Union.
Rogers has been employed with FivePoint for 15 years and formerly held the positions of assistant branch manager, loan officer and full-service representative. She is a graduate of Port Neches-Groves High School and loves to travel with her family.
Sen. Brandon Creighton, of Conroe, has been appointed to the 1836 Project Advisory Committee.
Creighton, currently serves as the state senator for Senate District 4. Previously, he served in the Texas House of Representatives. Creighton is an eighth-generation Texan and Montgomery County resident.
The 1836 Project Advisory Committee was created by the 87th Legislature as an advisory committee to promote patriotic education.
