Tornado causes damage in Southeast Texas as line of severe storms moves across region

SOUTHEAST TEXAS — A line of severe storms moved across Southeast Texas, packing a tornado and torrential rains that caused damage and flooding across several parts of the region.

Mary Phan, Jacob Howell and Brad Oldbury took video of the tornado as it crossed I-10 near Highway 62 and other locations in Orange County.

KFDM Chief Meteorologist Greg Bostwick says the twister dropped down at about 8:30 a.m. in Orange County and traveled about 30 miles in one hour before lifting back up into the sky in Newton County.

First responders say a woman was seriously hurt when her mobile home overturned in Orange County.

County Judges in Orange and Newton Counties have issued Disaster Declarations.

Thousands of Entergy customers are without electricity.
