Port Arthur community and others helping Nick’s Barbecue after fire forced eatery to close

PORT ARTHUR — In May 2021, a fire forced the closing of one of Port Arthur’s most iconic restaurants, but the community is not ready to write its obituary.

Loyal customers frequented Nick’s Barbecue for the restaurant’s links, ribs and pork bones.

But they fell in love with the restaurant place because of its generous donors to the community.

They say the restaurant did so much for so many.

And that’s why the community is rallying right now to get the eatery back in business.

There’s an account set up at 5Point Credit Union to help restore this legendary restaurant.

If you would like to donate, the routing number is 313187571. The account number is 10174745. The 5Point Credit Union’s member’s name is Airon Reynolds Jr.

If you have questions about making a donation, contact the 5Point Credit Union’s Member Services Department at 1-800-825-8829.
