A few employees at Optimus Steel’s Orange County plant were hospitalized Tuesday morning after an incident.
Authorities are still gathering information about the issue, which involved a crane at the steel fabricator in Orange County.
“There was an accident with non-life-threatening injuries,” Orange County Sheriff’s Office Josh Lockett told The Enterprise.
The company advised that a portion of the mill was undergoing an upgrade when the incident occurred. By Tuesday afternoon, Optimus Steel provided an update on the status of those who were injured.
“Of the small number of employees and contractors that needed hospitalization, all but two have been released with minor injuries,” Edward Goettl with Optimus Steel said in an email to The Enterprise. “The remaining two are under observation for their non-critical injuries.”
No further information was available by press time.
