It rained the day before, evening before and even on the afternoon of; but people came out to the 44th Annual Butterfly Festival sponsored by the Jasper-Lake Sam Rayburn Area Chamber of Commerce.

In addition butterfly attire, there were also dog races, food, fun, festivities and even live music.

Although the rain held off, turnout was low as many worried about getting wet.

A short period of rain occurred shortly after 2:00, but most of the vendors stayed in place until the end of the festivities.
