Sulphur High student arrested for possible threatening behavior

Lake Charles, LA (KPLC) – A Sulphur High Student has been arrested after allegedly threatening to bring a gun to school, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Spokeswoman Kayla Vincent says detectives arrested a 15-year old juvenile at their home following an investigation on Sept. 22, 2021.

Detectives say they were advised the suspect told another student not to go to school the next day and that they had an “item” they wanted to bring to school. When the other student asked about the item the suspect made a gun signal with his hands.

Further investigation showed the student did not own a weapon or have access to one.

The student has been booked into the Juvenile Detention Center for terrorizing.
