Jasper native Victor Payne to be inducted into TCU Athletics Hall of Fame

The Fort Worth Star Telegram is reporting that Jasper native Victor Payne is one of a half-dozen former student athletes at Texas Christian University that will be inducted into the school’s Athletics Hall of Fame.

Payne, born and raised in Jasper, was a 1997 graduate of Jasper High School where he was a 4-year letterman in football and powerlifting. Payne then played on the TCU football offensive line from 1998 to 2001 where he received All-Conference USA honors and Sporting News magazine named him as the league’s Best Blocker.

Payne now lives in Keller, Texas where he is Vice President of Specialty Asset Management in the Oil & Gas Division at Bank of America. His mother, Shirley Payne, his brother, Bobby Payne, and many other family members still live in Jasper.

Payne is slated to serve as Honorary Team Captain when TCU hosts SMU on Saturday, September 25th.
