SOUTHEAST TEXAS — Law enforcement officers are searching for a 6-year-old boy kidnapped from his mother’s car Thursday night at the Westside Event Center in Pearland.
Authorities have issued an Amber Alert following the kidnapping of Amari Daniel Baylor.
Amari’s mother told police she and her three children were at the Westside Event Center, 2150 Country Place Parkway, at about 7:50 p.m. Thursday, to check into football and cheerleading programs for her children, at the same time a football practice was underway.
The woman got out of her car with her daughter and left the other two children in the vehicle.
Two other women, who claimed to be witnesses at the practice, said they saw another black woman in her late 20s to early 30s with long, straight black hair, 5’9″, weighing about 180 pounds and wearing an orange shirt, taking a child from a white Chevrolet Malibu’s driver side rear window.
The woman got into a silver or gray SUV with the child and left the parking lot southbound on Country Place Parkway.
The witnesses said they didn’t get the license plate but saw orange characters on it.
Amari has short black hair and a mole on the top right side of his lip.
He was wearing a white Adidas shirt, black Nike pants and all red tennis shoes.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Pearland Police Department at 281-997-4100.
