Orange Planning and Zoning to Consider New Subdivision

The Orange Planning and Zoning Commission along with the Orange City Council will hold a public hearing and vote for the preliminary plat of a new subdivision. The meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the council chamber auditorium next to the Orange Public Library.

D&H Development has presented the preliminary plat for the first phase of the Little Cypress Grove subdivision. The housing development is planned for nearly 28 acres that are currently vacant along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The property is by the west side of Little Cypress Junior High School to the Sabine River Authority canal.

The preliminary plat is for 99 lots for single-family houses along three streets to be constructed.

The planning and zoning commission will conduct the public hearing for comments and then vote on the plans. Council members will attend the hearing and then vote on the proposal after the planning and zoning commission.
