GALVESTON, Texas — The Coast Guard rescued four people from a sinking yacht south of the Bolivar Peninsula in Galveston on Sunday.

Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston command center responded to the early morning 911 call sent to them by the Galveston Police Department about four adults on the sinking 52-foot yacht that was damaged and grounded close to the North Jetty.

A Coast Guard crew was sent to the scene. When they got there, they were able to rescue all four people from the yacht.

The boaters were brought to shore, where EMS crews treated them. All four boaters were said to be stable, but one had to be transported to the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston for back and neck injuries.
