Won’t/Can’t Fix the Drainage so Jefferson County Buys Four New High Water Vehicles

JEFFERSON COUNTY — Jefferson County has accepted delivery of four Light medium tactical vehicles (LMTV), according to a news release from the county.

They are 2 1/2 ton trucks to be utilized by each precinct through their personnel, by emergency management and the sheriff’s office.

The vehicles were bought from Federal Surplus Properties in San Antonio at a cost of $6,500 for each truck.

These are high water vehicles that can be used in water up to four feet during disasters and hurricanes for rescues and hold at least 16 people at a time.
