Tropical Storm Ida Forms a Year After Laura; Southwest Louisiana Sandbag Locations

Lake Charles, LA (KPLC) – Sandbag locations from around Southwest Louisiana.

Calcasieu Parish – The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury announced that sand and bags are now available to residents free of charge at several parish locations.

· Ward 1 Barn – 461 Parish Road, Moss Bluff

· Ward 2 Barn – 7085 La. 14 East, Hayes

· Ward 3 Old Barn – 2320 Smith Road, Lake Charles

· Ward 3 Barn- Swift Plant Road, Lake Charles

· Old Kroger building – Intersection of Beglis Parkway and Napoleon Street, Sulphur

· Ward 5 Barn – 129 Third St., Starks

· Ward 6 Barn – 1275 Plum St., DeQuincy

· Ward 8 Barn – 1726 Parish Barn Road, Iowa.

While the sand and bags are provided, residents must bring their own shovels and fill their own bags, and sites will be restocked mornings and evenings, according to the police jury.

Beauregard Parish – Sand and bags will be available beginning 6:30 a.m. Friday.

· 1335 1st Ave, DeRidder

· 5711 Hwy 171, DeRidder

· 854 Magnolia Church Road, Ragley

· 6599 Hwy 26, DeRidder

· Starting at 7 a.m. Friday, sandbags will be available for City of DeRidder residents at the City Shop, 735 West 7th St. The city is asking residents to bring a shovel to fill bags, and there’s a limit of 10 bags per household.
