A man in Orange was stabbed in the hip with a kitchen knife Friday and was taken by ambulance to a hospital. Police said his injury was not life-threatening.
Orange police were called about 1 a.m. Friday to a fight in the 500 block of Knox Avenue. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the 28-year-old victim had been arguing with his brother. The brother got the kitchen knife and stabbed the man.
Acadian Ambulance took the victim to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Captain Enmon said no arrest has been made and no charges have been filed.
Law officers found 13 pounds of marijuana in a parked pickup truck at a house in Vidor Friday afternoon.
Orange Police narcotics officer J.C. Steele reported he was working with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office to go to the house in the 400 block of Triangle Drive in Vidor.
OPD Captain Robert Enmon said law officers had information from a source in Jefferson County about drugs at the residence.
Steele reported the group went to the address about 2 Friday afternoon. After getting permission to search the parked 2001 GMC pickup, the officers found the marijuana. Captain Enmon said the cannabis had been packaged for distribution.
